Loaver - Chris Mayer & The Rockets - Ordinary Elephant - Laura Carbone

Loaver has now released her debut album 'Fern' from which we have already had the pleasure of sharing three tracks. The full collection is streaming below and has lived up to our hopes and expectations, as Linnea Hall's creative and multi genre musical exploration truly impresses. ===== From Bavaria we have Chris Mayer & The Rockets with 'Autumn Riot' a refreshingly natural and hook filled indie/pop rocker. ===== Ordinary Elephant share 'Let Me Tell You What I Think' a raw sounding and stripped back folk song that simmers with emotion. ===== Berlin-based Dreamadelica rocker Laura Carbone just released 'Who's gonna save you Live at Rockpalast' a track built upon restrained passion and building vocal power, it's one of those songs that will resonate well in a sweaty nightclub or comfortably fill a stadium.

Loaver - Fern (Album).

Malmö, Sweden, based singer-songwriter Linnea Hall started her solo project Loaver with a desire to be able to showcase all sides of her experiences and inspirations. This weekend, debut album 'Fern' is released via Rama Lama Records.

In 2019, she put out her self-titled debut EP on Birds Records. The music – experimental, smooth and dark pop at its finest – was written and recorded in Italy during 2017, in close collaboration with artists such as Giovanni Ferrario (PJ Harvey, John Parish etc.), who produced the tracks, and Emanuele Maniscalco. Through the six tracks we were drawn between the uttermost boundaries of emotions – love, hate, dreams, doubt, chaos and naivety. The new record is once again recorded in Italy but this time in collaboration with Emanuele Maniscalco and Carlo Poddighe.

Early 2020, Loaver returned with new single 'Drömmeri (om döden)' on Rama Lama Records (Melby, Chez Ali, Julia Rakel, Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes). The single, a pendant to Debussy's Reverie, is a memoriam to Linnea's grandmother that was released on her death day. This was the first taste of the upcoming album that's packed with highly unique and instantly memorable tracks, like the slow burner 'Bloom With Me', the shapeshifting 'Forget All About' and captivating 'Apart'.

The debut LP 'Fern' sees Loaver develop her creative pop and experiments with art music, trip hop, singer-songwriter, dream pop, jazz and bedroom pop elements that together with Hall's splendid vocals and personal lyrics create a hauntingly beautiful soundscape.

Besides Loaver, Linnea Hall is the singer of Swedish experimental indie rock group Kluster B. The band have put out two records since 2018 that besides positive reviews in some of Sweden's biggest music magazines, have received international attention from Line of Best Fit, BBC Radio 6, NBHAP and more, with The Revue calling them one of the most innovative bands in the world as well as opened for Frankie Cosmos, Omni and more.

Chris Mayer & The Rockets - Autumn Riot.

Chris Mayer & the Rockets - the four guys from Bavaria identify with the sound of John Mayer or Coldplay. Right from the start they created their own style. They call it „Feelgood-Blues-Rock“, straight from the heart.

Chris Mayer was on tour before as a singer/songwriter. Amongst others he got radio airplay at one of the biggest German stations „Bayern3“ and also supported the American songwriter Nataly Dawn (Pomplamoose) at the Prinzenbar in Hamburg.

Chris and the Rockets know what makes them so special: each of them comes from another Music-Universe. Progessive Rock, Metal, Indie and Singer/Songwriter merge into „FBR“. Handmade music that gets to the heart – and stays.

Ordinary Elephant - Let Me Tell You What I Think.

We didn’t sit down with an intention to write this song. It found its way out through a songwriting exercise we sometimes use called the translitic process, which is essentially a way to tap into your subconscious. You start with a piece of poetry in a language foreign to you and the first step is to “translate” it, but not in the traditional sense. You don’t try to guess what the words actually mean, instead you take it line by line and write down what first comes to mind based on how the words look and how you think they sound.

You end up with a page of dream-like stream of consciousness nonsense when taken as a whole, but there are flecks of phrases that shine like a mirror among the mess. And as you work through the drafts, continuing to rewrite one to the next without looking back at previous versions, what’s been in the folds of your mind starts coming into focus. And this time it was the state of our country and our democracy.

The final edits only recently fell into place, and then we felt the call to share this song in a wider way, in hopes of encouraging action that can create change. So we headed to the home studio of our friend Clay Parker whose intuitive artistry and musicianship are at the foundation of his work. In an analog world that he is well-versed in, but is new to us, we tracked straight to tape. No punch-ins, no comping, just the one take that we all felt best actualizes the song. In a time when things feel hidden and pulled apart and pieced together into parallel narratives, it felt good to use such an unbroken and linear process to create something. — Crystal Hariu-Damore

Laura Carbone - Who's gonna save you (Live at Rockpalast).

Berlin-based dreamadelica rocker Laura Carbone premieres the first single “Who’s Gonna Save You” from her forthcoming album Laura Carbone - Live at Rockpalast. The single is accompanied by an alluring video, sonically driven by its taunting, foreboding bass, as a furtive lady in red emerges from the shadows, overlooking her realm. And then the question, “Who’s gonna save you?”

When Laura Carbone and her band kick in with the “Live at Rockpalast” rendition of “Who’s Gonna Save You?” you’d be forgiven for thinking she’s just conjured up a storm that’s long held the world breathless. Switching between the B-&-W grit of her 2019 Rockpalast show and Laura’s other role in the video as the crimson-clad water nymph protecting her natural habitat, the imagery highlights the duality of the artist, as well as the voices that struggle within each of us.

The footage of Laura Carbone in the red dress was shot and directed in September 2020 at Berlin’s Märchenbrunnen, or “Fairytale Fountain,” in Volkspark Friedrichshain by visual artist and Underground Youth drummer Olya Dyer, who comments, “To have this immaculate beauty yet melancholic aftertaste blended with the energy of the live performance is incredible. It's a solitary present mixed with a crowded past.”

A fragility with a thick skin, her toughness genteel, her tenderness endless and her ferocity formidable, Laura sings, “Dear love, you better get some shelter,” and you have to ask, is it caring advice, or a veiled threat? Laura Carbone is both fairy and fury, protective of her core, her integrity, her oasis of calm in a world of spiraling chaos, where the question remains: Who’s gonna save you?

While everyone is missing the experience of attending live performances there’s no better time to witness Laura Carbone’s spellbinding talent, her arresting voice, silver-tongued lyrics, and a penchant for channeling 80s-90s dark wave pop than on her upcoming live performance album Live at Rockpalast.

Misty Coast - Anna Krantz - Loaver

Misty Coast have a new video for their wonderful song 'In a Million Years' where the familiar vocals of Linn Frøkedal once again shine against a rich musical backdrop. ==== Anna Krantz has shared 'Blessed Are The Free' along with a video, the song is fast flowing and melodic with hints of Americana. ==== Loaver returns to Beehive Candy with 'Apart' the final single to be taken from her October 30th, debut album 'Fern', and from we've heard so far promises to be a very creative and mixed genre collection.

===================================================

Misty Coast - In a Million Years.

Misty Coast have released a new video for ‘In A Million Years’

The video tells a sort of four-dimensional sci-fi story that takes place in a common apartment. We see three women interacting in the same spaces without crossing each other's path. Are they all different personalities of the same human being?

Like an intergalactic Kim Deal, vocalist Linn Frøkedal’s reverb and distortion laden vocals are layered over a heavenly backdrop of fuzz, drawing in the listener like a piece of debris into a black hole.

“the song represents a recurring theme on the album, and it lingers in thoughts about whether we should choose to ignore the reality outside of what we experience as our world - or if we should dare to seek a larger, perhaps unpleasant truth."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anna Krantz - Blessed Are The Free.

“Wake up to life in colour, don’t you want it” - Anna Krantz

‘Blessed Are The Free’ is the second song in Krantz’s “New moon new tune” series of releases. Co-written with Jessica Sharman (co-writer of Ward Thomas’s #1 song, Cartwheels) “Blessed Are The free” is an uplifting and relatable offering and follows “We Could Be High” which recently featured on RTE Radio 1’s recommends playlist.

At a time when the world was in a state of uncertainty and relative stillness, Krantz began to reflect on the concept of freedom:

“I wasn’t allowed to fly to London and see my family or show my masked smile to a stranger. I wasn’t allowed to go out for a meal with my boyfriend or grab a coffee with a girlfriend. I wasn’t even allowed to be in the same room with Jessica to write the song. Like everyone else, so much of my freedom had been removed. Yet I felt free in my spirit and happy in my heart. This me made wonder what freedom actually means and how it can be accessed from within as opposed to without.”

After sharing past stories and new insights, Sharman and Krantz created this catchy, uptempo number. Her yearning voice soars high above the track’s bouncy shuffle, creating a whirlwind of emotions set to rouse the heart and fortify the soul.

The self-produced track was played by a number of Krantz’s favourite Nashville musicians and was Mixed by Craig Alvin who mixed and engineered Kacey Musgrave’s multi Grammy winning album, Golden Hour. The perfectly crafted sincere single sets the bar high again with a timeless quality of song writing and a satisfying freshness for the ever- shifting 2020 landscape.

Loaver - Apart.

Malmö, Sweden, based singer-songwriter Linnea Hall started her solo project Loaver with a desire to be able to showcase all sides of her experiences and inspirations. On October 30th, debut album 'Fern' is released via Rama Lama Records. 'Apart' is the last single taken from the album and is out now.

Linnea Hall on Apart: "Apart was originally written for the Opera Festival in Brescia, Italy, in 2018. The song plays with an excerpt from Arrigo Boito’s Mephistopheles, why "he" in the end alludes to the rapture or, if one so wishes, the evil in us. Otherwise, the song is mostly a bundle of questions or reflections of the loneliness we share."

The debut LP 'Fern' sees Loaver develop her creative pop and experiments with trip hop, singer-songwriter, dream pop, jazz and bedroom pop elements that together with Hall's splendid vocals and personal lyrics create a hauntingly beautiful soundscape.

Loaver - Dolls - Zooni

Loaver - Forget All About.

Malmö, Sweden, based singer-songwriter Linnea Hall started her solo project Loaver with a desire to be able to showcase all sides of her experiences and inspirations. On October 30th, debut album 'Fern' is released via Rama Lama Records. 'Forget All About' is the third single to come from the album and is out now.

Loaver on Forget All About: "I wrote Forget All About with Emanuele Maniscalco in Italy last spring. It was a time when nothing seemed to be right. I guess it’s a song about the abrupt changes that arose in the gap between what was gone but at home and the present absence, or perhaps it was the other way around. The horses ran astray in the city. "

Dolls - Secret Ugly Baby (Video) / Eggshells (E.P).

Two piece power-pop makers Jade and Bel, aka Dolls, release new single/video 'Secret Ugly Baby' and make their 'Eggshells' EP available to stream.

At the end of June Dolls physically released their long-awaited second EP ‘Eggshells’ exclusively as part of the Love Record Stores.  It was once again released with iconic soundtrack labels Mondo/Death Waltz on a beautiful limited edition multi-coloured and etched vinyl LP and digital.

This week they have released that EP digitally, plus reveal a video for latest single ’Secret Ugly Baby’.  Talking about the song, Jade explains "Secret Ugly Baby is your own anxiety, it’s born one day and evolves as you grow up. It’s not pretty and it’s not something that you always want to show to the world”.

She goes on to talk about the video, explaining "The stop-motion video by Michael Foxwell is a fun play on the lyrics. Highlighting the pressures we have from social media and our constant desire to appear like we are ‘living our best lives’... whilst simultaneously falling over!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zooni - Cascara.

A powerful yet fragile mix of poetic lyrics and transcendent textures ... Brighton art-pop makers Zooni today release their latest single ‘Cascara’. Produced
with Mercury and Brit award winning producer Charlie Andrew (Alt J, London Grammar, Marika Hackman), and released via Square Leg Records, it is taken from their forthcoming ‘Familiar Ground' EP is (out October 2nd).

Talking about the song, singer Peter Martin explains that “Cascara is a bit of a downer to be honest. Its about feeling overworked and powerless to change anything. Living alone I realised I would come up with all sorts of wacky theories for happiness that bore no relation to reality and the song kind of makes fun of that.’

The track comes supported by a beautifully monochrome animated video from director Patrick Atkins.  Explaining his inspiration for the video, he explains "There's so much texture and mood layered into this song, it was a pleasure to try to and mirror that on screen and see where it took me. As with the previous video for ‘Dissolve', I knew I wanted to take the viewer on a bit of a journey on this one, and capture what felt to me like real moments of wonder and awe running through a track that's otherwise got a slightly dark mood to it. Something about falling through space seemed to fit, and the rest evolved from there".

The band today announce a special online performance recorded live at Iguana Studio where they recorded both of their EP’s. The set will include the EP and some special surprises. It’ll be broadcast live 8pm October 1st on the bands facebook and instagram pages.

Grace Turner - NKOS - Loaver - Terra Lightfoot - Saronde - Ane Brun

Grace Turner has released her new E.P 'Half Truths' which is a collection of gorgeous contemporary folk rock songs. === NKOS return for a third time here with 'Lonely Ghost-Self' and once again they continue to carve out a powerfully distinct and irresistable musical experience. === Loaver also sings in Malmö act Kluster B who have graced our pages on more than one occasion. Loaver takes us into a more gentle and personal place with her beautiful new track 'Bloom With Me'. === Terra Lightfoot was a regular here back in 2017 and we are so pleased to have her back with 'Paper Thin Walls' where her refined yet powered up rock makes for a fine listen. === Saronde shares 'Firewood' featuring Idd Aziz. It's fair to say we have not featured much Afro Funk on Beehive Candy, songs like this might just change that! === Finally today we have Ane Brun and the brand new release 'Take Hold Of Me'. A well established artist with an eighth album on the way, I just had to share this as it's just so beautiful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grace Turner - Half Truths (E.P).

Alluring, honest and thought-provoking; Grace Turner unravels a stream of consciousness in her debut EP Half Truths, an evocative narrative and deep-seated direction for the folk-Americana singer-songwriter.

A seven-track EP, Grace traverses her innermost self and broaches both the subjectivity and complexity of one's truth. Whilst diving into a fresh direction in both sound and writing, Grace remains true to folk-rock soundscapes. A work-in-progress over 3 years, the EP reveals Grace's vulnerability and newfound artistic expression. In retrospect, Grace recalls the solace she found from the process: "I was sick of trying to sound good, trying to be some version of myself I had always told myself I was. I wanted to be seen and heard. When I listen to these songs now and look back at the process they definitely are of a time of great change and renewal for me. I chose the title Half Truths as I was going through such a turbulent time and the songs felt like they were spat out of me."

A lover of storytelling, instrumentals and dissecting lyrics, Grace hopes her body of work is also an introduction to listeners' self-analysis. "Truth is a subjective thing, what we think is true one day especially in relation to ones inner emotions may be really very different the next. When you create something you put those thoughts and feelings down, but you don’t necessarily stay the same person or believe in what you said," she continues.

Written across different settings and inspired by a range of characters, each track mirror an ongoing theme: introspection. Whether it be freeing the mind while driving in opening track 'Disdain', questioning mortality in 'Crossed Your Mind', unpacking cognitive dissonance in 'Half Light', shifting internally in 'Get Your Head Straight' or ruminating on love in 'Forget About The World'. The EP also features gusty single 'Easy I Fall' and breakout track 'Dead Or Alive', both of which received extensive plays across triple j and Double J radio.

To piece the EP together, Grace worked with a number of key figures in the industry. Recording at Melbourne's infamous Sound Park Studios with the production skills of Timothy Harvey (Lisa Mitchell, Ella Hooper), mixing by Fletcher Matthews (Sweater Curse, CLEWS) and mastering by Adam Dempsey (Didirri, Courtney Barnett). Prior to this, Grace has previously played internationally at SXSW Festival, earnt a spot as a triple j Unearthed feature artist, hitting #24 in Spotify US' Viral 50 Playlist, as well as supporting an array of artists including Alex The Astronaut, Lucy Dacus (USA), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), City Calm Down, Kingswood, Ali Barter and more as well as making appearances at Grow Your Own Festival and Groovin The Moo.

NKOS - Lonely Ghost-Self.

After their debut ‘Little Miss Numb’ last year and follow up ‘BOW (Brave Old World)’ only a month ago, NKOS are now back with synth/electro gem Lonely Ghost-self, their electronic take on break up, grief, solitude and pain. Building a path that will lead to the release of their debut album in October.

Single number three is now edging towards the digital launchpad, once again co-produced by Jagz Kooner, producer and remixer, doyen of ‘electronic rock & roll’ (it’s his own genre dammit). Co-producer of debut single Little Miss Numb’, Jagz lays a trail of aural breadcrumbs as to what you can expect from ‘Lonely Ghost-Self’, a track titled as if to be a winsome Belle and Sebastian B-Side but revealing a darker, heavier, jagged and harder hitting side to NKOS that was concealed by the dreamier, albeit bruising electronica of previous numbers ‘Little Miss Numb’ and ‘BOW (Brave Old World)’.

Initially a pan-national studio-based project, NKOS has evolved into a full band, one set to thrill on stages around the world. Brought together by friendship, the internet and sometimes sheer luck, NKOS comprise four artists from very different backgrounds – and locations – who share a love of deep, edgy electronica.

NKOS are releasing their debut album ‘From Dust To Life’ on Beatbuzz Records in October. The album will be available digitally via AWAL and OML Sync and physically in a limited edition metal box cassette with the option of cassette + walkman/cassette player also available.

Loaver - Bloom With Me.

Loaver is one of the lastest signing to Stockholm label Rama Lama Records (Melby, Julia Rakel, Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes etc.). However she's not a new face to the family as Linnea Hall, the woman behind the project, also sings in Malmö act Kluster B. New single 'Bloom With Me' is out now and is the second taste of her upcoming debut album 'Fern'.

Malmö, Sweden, based singer-songwriter Linnea Hall started her solo project Loaver with a desire to be able to showcase all sides of her experiences and inspirations. Earlier this year, Loaver released new single 'Drömmeri (om döden)' on Rama Lama Records (Melby, Chez Ali, Julia Rakel, Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes). The single, a pendant to Debussy's Reverie is a memoriam to Linnea's grandmother that was released on her death day. 'Bloom With Me' is the second single of her upcoming debut album 'Fern' and another taste of her creative pop.

Linnea on the track: "Bloom With Me was written in a basement in Italy, in some kind of hopeless longing for union and development amongst all those stringy branches."

In 2019, Loaver put out her self-titled debut EP on Birds Records. Terra Lightfoot - Paper Thin Walls.

Nearly three years since the release of her critically acclaimed album New Mistakes, soulful rocker Terra Lightfoot shares the new single and video for "Paper Thin Walls" off the upcoming studio album Consider the Speed (October 16th - Sonic Unyon Records).

Recorded in Memphis, Tennessee at legendary Royal Studios, the single sees Lightfoot backed by a trio of session heavyweights —drummer Steve Potts, bassist Davy Smith, and keyboardist Lester Snell —produced by Jay Newland and engineered by Lawrence "Boo" Mitchell. If the single's loping riff and easy groove suggests the makings of a summer anthem, it delivers a stinging lyric for all seasons.

"I wrote this song about overhearing someone you love sharing some harsh words,” says Lightfoot. “I’ve tried to modulate my reactions to things like that, strived to be calmer in my interactions even when I feel strongly. 'Paper Thin Walls' is about having your heart run over by someone who never really comes through.”

Alongside the single, Lightfoot releases a lyric video for the song, directed by Mat Dunlap and featuring performance footage from the tail end of the marathon New Mistakes tour.

Strong, sure-footed and soulful, Terra Lightfoot's new album Consider the Speed sees the artist finding new roots on the road, and at home in her own skin more than ever before. On this Memphis-recorded session, the acclaimed singer-songwriter-guitarist is in top form, backed by seasoned session ringers and captured by Grammy-winning producer Newland and Grammy-winning engineer Mitchell.

Saronde - Firewood ft. Idd Aziz.

Saronde return with an afro funk anthem called ‘Firewood’ ft. Idd Aziz - “Nairobi today will be on fire. Finish your work. Wakariru put on your best dress we go and dance in the rain”- Translated lyrics from ‘Firewood’

Beating Heart Music label founders and dance duo Saronde (Ollie Wood and Chris Pedley) are back from a short break after having ignited airwaves (6 Music Giles Peterson, Cerys Matthews, Tom Ravenscroft) and festival stages (Glastonbury, Boomtown, Elrow) in 2019 with their unique recordings from across Africa featuring contemporary artists alongside vintage field recordings, all fused with a New Forest, UK originated musical twist.

‘Firewood’ has the hallmarks of a future classic borrowing from a 50’s Kikuyu all female acapella sung by young unmarried girls as they collect or carry back home firewood. It is an enchanting and delightful use of vocal evocative of youthful innocence and is complemented sublimely by Kenyan superstar Idd Aziz and a modern jazz funk pop disco splash of deliciously catchy jazz guitar, bass, and drums. Dare you not to stop everything and dance to this rhythm!

‘Firewood’ shows another level being reached as this real feel good track brings positivity, smiling faces and lots of energy across an unprecedented global summer.

The Beating Heart label is proud to spur a new wave of collaboration between Africa and the rest of the world, by using an untapped archive of 70-year-old field recordings housed at the International Library of African Music (ILAM) founded by ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey and The Kikuyu, (also Agĩkũyũ/Gĩkũyũ) where the sample originates from, are a Bantu ethnic group inhabiting Central Kenya. At a population of 8,148,668 as of 2019, they account for 17% of the total population of Kenya making them the largest ethnic group in Kenya.

Saronde was born of an idea in 2016, fusing ancient sounds with modern musical concepts. Now based in Nairobi, Ollie and Chris have gone deeply into this incredibly rich cultural heritage and marry ideas such as ‘Firewood’ with African musical icons like Idd Aziz, who is passionate about ethnic and cultural music and its place in African society and is a proud representative of his Mijikenda culture.

Other than being one of the most distinctive vocalists in the region, Idd Aziz is also an accomplished and dynamic percussionist having learned from his father. He also plays the guitar and flute and experiments with a variety of percussions from all across the African continent.

Ane Brun
Ane Brun - Take Hold Of Me.

Ane Brun has announced details of a brand new single, ‘Take Hold Of Me‘, which has just been released by her label, Balloon Ranger Recordings. It’s the sixth taste of her as-yet-untitled eighth studio album, which will represent her first of original material since 2015’s acclaimed When I’m Free. Due in stores this autumn, it follows 2017’s exquisite collection of cover versions, Leave Me Breathless.

This song came to life during a writing session with Martin Hederos and Josefin Runsteen in Spring of 2019. I’ve hardly done any live co-writing before (that is, meeting together in a room and creating something from scratch). I mostly prefer being alone in my own bubble when I create the first few seeds of a song. It’s a very intimate and intense activity for me, almost meditative and very intuitive and it involves a lot of improvisation. But I decided to give it a chance, and even though at one point I almost blushed because I felt so vulnerable digging into my soul in front of three friends, I’m very grateful we did it because a few really good songs came out of it, and it also made me braver.

My lyrics started out with these few lines: “My existence is screaming, it’s a physical feeling, of missing out on dance and light”. I try to describe an existential complex state of mind. An abstract feeling, and something that I’ve felt come and go through the years. And in some ways, in this time of the pandemic, it’s being emphasized even more. A feeling that things are on hold, that life is not lived to its full potential, and that the bigger questions are so present right there on the surface. It is something that at least I have experienced in this very different situation we’re in right now in 2020.

I reached out to Samuel Starck to co-produce this song with us, who is one of the amazing musicians appearing on my upcoming album. He’s also a synth and production wizard, and thanks to him we created this almost clubby sense of intense growing emotions, reflecting the words of suppressed energy that get a release by the end of the track. “Take hold of me, keep this energy steady.”

Loaver - Lauran Hibberd - JJ Cale - Café Spice

Loaver shares a dreamy dark pop song that is beautifully atmospheric and irresistible. Lauren Hibberd makes her fifth appearance on Beehive Candy as the Isle Of Wight artist once again impresses us with a fabulous alt rocker. With the first posthumous album for JJ Cale due in April we have the first track and a really fine video accompaniment for one of musics true legends. Cafe Spice treat us to a mixture of gorgeous vocals & harmonies above a simple and beautifully matched musical backdrop.

Loaver - Out Of Town.

Malmö, Sweden, based singer-songwriter Linnea Hall started her solo project Loaver with a desire to be able to showcase all sides of her experiences and inspirations. The music that will be released as Loaver’s debut EP - experimental, smooth and dark pop at its finest - was written and recorded in Italy during 2017, in close collaboration with artists such as Giovanni Ferrario (PJ Harvey, John Parish etc.), who produced the tracks, and Emanuele Maniscalco. Through the six tracks we’re drawn between the uttermost boundaries of emotions - love, hate, dreams, doubt, chaos and naivety.

Apart from Loaver Linnea is also active in Malmö based band Kluster, a band that released their debut album, ”Civic”, on Rama Lama Records in June 2018.

Last month Loaver released the single "Therapy" - a track that got critical acclaim from Swedish and international media. "Out Of Town", a dreamy, slow building track, is out on all streaming services.

Lauran Hibberd - Sugardaddy.

Kicking off 2019 with pulsating new anthem Sugardaddy, Isle Of Wight newcomer Lauran Hibberd sparkles in her latest release, moving further towards the forefront of the UK’s emerging indie landscape with aplomb.

Generating widespread acclaim throughout the online community (The Line Of Best Fit, The 405, Clash) in 2018 with her first few releases, in addition to extensive support at BBC Radio 1 (BBC Introducing Track of the Week), the rising talent’s expertly crafted blend of indie pop has already earned plenty of fanfare with her reputation certain to grow further over the next twelve months.

Recently named as one of Huw Stephens’ Top Tips for 2019 and confirmed to support US indie rockers Hippo Campus on a full UK/European tour this spring, plans are certainly shaping up nicely for the young musician whose off-kilter style has already earned comparisons to Courtney Barnett and Weezer, as well as lyricism reminiscent of acts such as Phoebe Bridgers and Soccer Mommy.

Detailing her upcoming release, Hibberd stated: “There’s a million love songs, but my dream is to live in a world where there’s a million songs about stuff like wanting a sugar daddy. I guess it’s a joke, it’s like wrapping bubblegum around depression. The idea stemmed from life being life, I have sort of a twisted humour so at some point my brain came to this as a comical solution. I wrote this track with Boe Weaver, my trusted day one producers. Don’t be alarmed”.

JJ Cale - Chasing You.

Because Music will release 'Stay Around', the first posthumous album by beloved songwriter, guitarist, and singer JJ Cale, on 26th April. 'Stay Around' is compiled by those closest to Cale, his widow and musician Christine Lakeland Cale and friend and longtime manager, Mike Kappus. Because Music today released the official video for the album’s debut single, 'Chasing You', featuring footage of Cale touring (which he seldom did) and performing across the U.S. The video is a breezily bittersweet glimpse at the life of the artist who died in 2013 and left behind a vital, resounding legacy.

Cale spent his career as an “under-the-radar-giant” (New York Times) and influenced musicians as wide-ranging as Neil Young (who wrote in his autobiography, “J. J.’s guitar playing is a huge influence on me. His touch is unspeakable. I am stunned by it.”); Beck (who, speaking to the L.A. Times, referred to his “effortlessness…restraint and underplaying” as “very powerful”); Eric Clapton (who, in his autobiography, called Cale “one of the most important artists in the history of rock, quietly representing the greatest asset his country has ever had”); and many, many others.

All tracks on 'Stay Around' are previously unreleased, a fact that’s not unusual considering Cale’s modus operandi: often Cale would reserve outtakes from one album for later release on another. Mike Kappus, who managed Cale for 30 years and has worked with his estate since his passing, explains, “‘Roll On,’ the title track of Cale’s last studio album, was 34 years old. He would burn me CDs of demos, and one time I said, ‘You’ve got two good albums on here.’ Some of the tracks had detailed information, some of them had nothing. Some songs might be a full band of his buddies, others were him playing everything. These were songs he really did intend to do something with because they were carried to his typical level of production for release.”

Café Spice – Bn2.

Bn2 (short for ‘Ballad number 2’) is the stunning second single to be released from new Manchester trio Cafè Spice. Taking the gorgeous Autumnal harmonies found on their debut single Lauren to a whole new level, the group’s soaring vocals on new track Bn2 are nothing short of exquisite.

Testament to their collective vocal prowess, the startling harmonies contain both a power and a velvety ethereal grace and are layered atop a gorgeous melody, acoustic guitar plucked and gently stirring. The sound is effortlessly sublime indie-folk that brings to mind contemporaries such as The Staves or HAIM.

Equally as emotive as the melody and vocals is the song’s heart-warming message of hope and comfort to a lovesick friend. As Cafè Spice explain: “(Bn2) was written for a friend struggling with unrequited love: a song of sleepless nights and swirling thoughts… ‘You’re half asleep but in your mind your fingers tie and unfold’”.

Cafè Spice are Georgia Gage, Eleanor Lang and Niamh Feeney. After spending time performing live around their hometown Manchester, the trio visited British Grove Studios, London to turn several live favourites into future singles with more to be released throughout 2019.
